Shawn grew up in the backroads of Nashville, Tennessee. She came to Riverside from Malawi, where she was a primary teacher in a rural village. Prior to this, she spent two years working for the National Science Foundation at a scientific research station in Antarctica and four years at sea. Her interests include adventuring, storytelling, crosswording, film making, and making other people laugh. Shawn is in her third year at Riverside.
Riverside graduates have been accepted to some of the most prestigious universities around the world.
